Taking a stroll by the river - Spring

江畔独步寻花 -杜甫

黄师塔前江水东，春光懒困倚微风。

桃花一簇开无主，可爱深红爱浅红？

Strolling Alone By the Riverside, Looking for Flowers
'Before Huangshi’s pagoda, the River’s waters go east,

in spring’s bright weather I am languid, leaning in the light breeze.

A single clump of peach blossoms bloom without an owner,

do I dote more on the deep red ones or on the light red ones?'

This poem was written by Du Fu China's most famous poet in Tang dynasty.

That spring, he planned to invite friends to enjoy the flower season together but ended up walking alone. During his strolls along the Jinjiang River in Chengdu, he wrote seven poems. Each one has different style and different structure. They show how much Du Fu loved nature.

My new creation, Red Peach Flower earrings are inspired by that vivid scene of this delicate flower glinting in the spring sunlight for Du Fu.

My own love of nature springs from my Chinese cultural roots.
